Case Study: LED Sign Lamps to Replace T12HO Cooler Lights

Customer Profile:

Westlake Liquors is your neighborhood liquor store with wonderful customer service and a wide selection of craft beer, wine and spirits.

Goal:

Westlake Liquor’s cooler area had fluorescent T12 lamps and many had faded in light output or were out entirely. Instead of simply replacing them, Westlake was looking to upgrade the lighting to LED to better accentuate their product and get out of the maintenance issue of replacing lamps and ballasts.

Results:

Premier retrofitted Westlake’s cooler lights with LED SignHero lamps that had the same R17d HO sockets that the Fluorescent T12HO lamps had. This resulted in an easy install and they were able to bypass the ballast for further energy and long-term maintenance savings. Light levels improved and thanks to 74% energy savings, Westlake was able to reach payback on their investment in a year and a half.
