In lighting, often times it is wise to see who is first to market with a product and keep track of it over time as new generations come out. Green Creative is one of the top innovators in lighting and they have always had a strong grasp on the compact HID LED replacement lamps from the beginning of the LED surge.
When we talk about low-watt, compact HID lamps, they are the smaller ones that are either 50W, 70W, 100W or up to 175W. Most often they are found in bollards, post tops, or smaller area lights. These are situations where space is at a premium which makes the oversized LED corncobs (even the smaller ones) tough to make fit, while the enclosed-rated Green Creative lamps are a perfect fit. Often 277V is a requirement in these applications and because these are generally outdoor applications at risk to high surge conditions, it is a good plan to use the Green Creative 97718 10KV surge protector.
There are three sizes/replacement options that Green Creative provides with these lamps. An A21 size that replaces up to 125W Incandescents, an A23 size that replaces either 200W incandescents or 70W-100W HID, and a PS30 size that can replace 100W-175W HID or a 300W incandescent PS-bulb. The A21 lamps come in E26 only, while the A23 and PS30 lamps are available in either E26 standard base or E39 mogul base.
All of these lamps work on 120-277V universal voltage, and the E26 options are dimmable! This means you can use these PS30 bulbs to replace 300W+ PS bulbs often found in church sanctuary chandeliers. The PS30 bulbs only come in 4000K and 5000K however, it would be nice to see them in the warmer 3000K which is generally the preferred color in church sanctuaries. But keep an eye out for this color to arrive in the future. The A21 and A23 lamps are all available in 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K color temps.
The E39 mogul base lamps have a unique feature as well; SelectDrive technology. Per the image at the top and the one nearby, the E39 lamps have a lumen-select tab on the lamp itself that allows you to choose between high lumen output, medium lumen output or low lumen output. This just adds to the versatility of the lamp and results in more flexibility in the field for making the right lumen choice when the time comes to install.
The other lamp statistics are what you would expect from Green Creative; high efficacy levels reaching up to 147 lumens per watt. Integral thermal sensor reduces power tot he lamp in the event ambient temperature exceeds specified limitations. All the E26-based lamps are Energy Star rated, while the E39-based lamps are DLC rated, meaning you can capture rebates on both options.
