For many years, Premier Lighting has worked with our customers at schools and universities to meet their stadium lighting needs. In the past this meant supplying and installing 1000W and 1500W metal halide fixtures and ballasts to ensure all components were in working order.
In recent years with the growth of LED, stadium lighting projects have come across our table and customers have been asking about viable LED solutions. Saving energy is always important, but equally important in this application is ensuring that foot candle ratings remain at the standard designed level of 50 foot-candles (fc).
Rest assured, there are now LED fixtures and bulbs that can replace the old HID sources in these demanding environments. Our LED stadium lights deliver supreme efficacy at up to 174 lumens per watt and will still deliver 80%+ of initial light output after 66,000 hours of operation! Say good-bye to flipping breakers and doing constant maintenance to replace HID outages.
The video shown above was taken after we retrofitted Spring Lake Park’s stadium lighting to LED. They are now benefitting from energy savings and improved light levels. The noisy old HID system hummed and required start-up time, whereas the LED quickly and silently powers on.
Controls can really take these projects to the next level! Dynamic controls with our new LED stadium lighting systems allow for all sorts of effects to enhance the atmosphere. Control your lights on site or securely from the comfort of your home!
