Some Keystone terminology; Smart Drive means Type A/Ballast Compatible. These lamps will work assuming the existing ballast is compatible. Direct drive means Type B ballast bypass. Also note the original direct drive series was single-end install only. The DX2 Direct Drive lamps are single or double-end wired. External drive means Type C where a remote driver is used. Combo Drive, also known as Type AB, can be used on a ballast and also by bypassing the ballast.
