TCP was one of the first with color-selectable LED T8 tubes and now their just-released Gen2 line took it to another level! All of their new CCT select LED tubes are constructed of PET coated glass to protect against breakage and also ensures the lamps are NSF rated for food manufacturing environments. The lamps also hit the full range of CCT’s – 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K and 6500K – making it an option for replacing any dedicated-CCT LED T8 out there as well.
TCP also has the user covered for install options. If you want a plug-and-play option that works with the existing ballast, they have a Type A LED T8, TCP# LT815A25CCTP. Be sure to check out the ballast compatibility page in the cut sheet to ensure the lamps will work on your ballast.
If you want to bypass the ballast and wire direct, they have the LT815B25CCTP that delivers 1800 lumens on 15W. They also make an HO version that delivers 2200 lumens on 15W, TCP LT815HB25CCTP. Both options are single or double-end wired for install.
Not sure if you want to bypass the ballast or wire direct? You can get the Type AB version, TCP LT815AB5CCTP. Combo style lamps like this are growing in popularity because they allow the end user to use the lamps with the existing ballast, and then when the ballast dies out they can wire the lamp direct to the line voltage.
What about T5 lamps? TCP does have a CCT-select LED T5 in Type A (uses ballast) or Type B (bypasses ballast). The Type A version is TCP LT524A24CCTP and the Type B version is TCP LT524B24CCTP. These are both CCT selectable between 3500K, 4000K, 5000K and 6500K, so they hit almost all the colors as the LED T8’s but they are missing 3000K. At 24W 3200 lumens, these LED T5 lamps are designed to replace F54T5HO lamps. 120-277V and come with the same G5 mini bi-pin base as the F54T5HO. There have been some CCT select LED T5 lamps out there but these are unique especially the Type A option.
One big benefit to these color-select linear LED lamps is that they greatly reduce the amount of SKU’s to keep track of and stock. This makes it easy for purchasing and maintenance. Another thing we find is that users often experiment with the color temps and end up changing them from what they had originally intended the color to be.
