Lapham Hickey Steel – Warehouse/Production Area LED Highbay Upgrade with Sensors

Goal:

Lapham Hickey’s warehouse and production areas were lit up by 4′ 6-lamp T8 fluorescent highbay fixtures. The light output over time began to wane and with the upcoming fluorescent lighting ban on the horizon, retrofitting to LED sooner than later was a wise plan. They called upon Premier Lighting to assess the facility and provide a path forward to LED.

Results:

Replacing the 4′ 6-lamp 32W T8 fluorescent fixtures with new LED highbay fixtures resulted in over 50% of energy savings along with an increase of light levels. Better yet, sensors were added to each LED highbay fixture to dim them down and eventually to off if movement is not detected over a given period of time. This results in even higher true energy savings in certain areas of the warehouse that are un-used for a portion of the day. Payback on the project was set at just over a year!
