Keystone’s SignHero LED Sign Tubes have been a leading solution for fluorescent sign retrofits since their inception a few years back. The newest version of their patented SignHero has just been released and it has some innovations that are sure to impress, all while maintaining the same low cost.
The old SignHero lamps were available in either 4000K or 6500K, but the new versions are now color selectable between 4000K/5000K/6500K. So you can choose the color on the lamp itself by flipping the switch shown in the picture above!
Previously the SignHero was only available in clear housing; now you can get either clear or frosted! Frosted costs a bit less and is often used in coolers/freezers or other applications where the tube is exposed, while the clear is used in the majority of enclosed signs. Note that the clear optics options is available in 180º single-sided or 360º double-sided, while frosted is available only in 360º double-sided.
What about lengths? Of course Keystone has the new SignHero in all the lengths that you would find a fluorescent T8HO/T12HO in; 18″, 24″, 30″, 36″, 42″, 48″, 60″, 64″, 72″, 84″, 96″, 108″, 117″ and 120″. Keep in mind when you see a nominal length of 48″ like with an F48T12/HO, the true length of the bulb is around 45.9″. Be sure to verify part# and/or length before purchasing, to ensure you get the proper size! On that note, the 96″ and longer SignHero tubes must be purchased by the case of 9 for shipping purposes, while the shorter SignHero lamps can be ordered in smaller quantities.
Lastly, these SignHero lights are now single or double-end wired. The ballast will be bypassed and then the power is re-wired directly to the sockets in whichever configuration is preferred by the installer. Either way it is a simple install that can be done in minutes, allowing you to upgrade from fluorescent to LED all while ditching the ballast as an additional energy source/failure point.
