Customer Profile:

On a trip to Chicago in 1975, Green Mill’s owners fell in love with deep dish pizza and added their version to the menu. What happened next was pizza history. Word spread. Lines formed. Awards were won. A legend was born.

Goal:

As with many older fluorescent systems, lamp and ballast outages were resulting in subpar lighting and constant re-lamping maintenance. Green Mill was looking for an LED solution that would provide a different style of lighting for the kitchen area in addition to saving energy and hopefully increasing light levels.

Results:

The new Backlit LED panel lights were surface-mounted and provided evenly diffused lighting in the kitchen area, eliminating the dark spots that were prevalent with the fluorescent system. A full LED retrofit of the facility also including new LED Sign lighting, LED area lights in the parking lot, and amber screw-in lamps in the dining area. Rebates paid for a good chunk of the project and payback was set at just over a year!
